Our Practice
Meet Lisa
I’m Lisa Pokorny, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and the founder of Flying Point Therapy Collective. For more than 15 years, I’ve walked alongside individuals, couples, and families as they navigate life’s challenges—from healing after trauma to managing stress, strengthening relationships, and finding new ways forward.
My path as a social worker has taken me from research and teaching to clinical care and leadership, always centered on one thing: helping people feel supported and understood. I’ve facilitated evidence-based programs like Strength at Home and Nurturing Parenting, worked with military families through the Family Advocacy Program at Fort Carson, and guided prevention and wellness efforts at the U.S. Air Force Academy. These experiences have shown me that growth and resilience are possible, even in the hardest seasons of life.
In therapy, I draw on approaches that are both practical and compassionate, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing. I also incorporate trauma-informed care and evidence-based programs like Strength at Home, Nurturing Parenting, and Foundations of Safer Relationships. Whether we are working one-on-one or in groups, my focus is on helping clients build resilience, strengthen relationships, and create meaningful, lasting change.
Flying Point Therapy Collective grew from my vision to create a safe and welcoming space where clients feel seen, heard, and empowered. Here, therapy isn’t about fixing what’s “wrong”— it’s about discovering strengths, learning new tools, and building connections that support healing and growth.
Outside of work, I find grounding in the outdoors and the beauty of the mountains, which inspired the name Flying Point. Just as a point on the horizon can guide us forward, my hope is that this practice can serve as a steady place of support and possibility for those who walk through its doors.
